Step 2 : Step by Step Instructions “One piece puzzle at a time” Following DOK levels to increase the difficulty level of tasks

Teaching New Content- -- tools such as videos; pictures; flashcards; songs; power points; mini-books; TPRs; animals talking…. Reviewing introduced content by using different activities: --Experts have identified three basic learning styles-- Auditory learners remember by TALKING out loud and HEARING, like to have things explained orally and may have trouble with written instructions. Auditory learners may talk to themselves when learning something new. Visual learners easily remember visual details and prefer to SEE what they are learning. They prefer to write down instructions and may have trouble following lectures. Kinesthetic or tactile learners prefer activities that allow them to DO what they are learning about. Tactile learners like to touch things in order to learn about them and like to move around when talking or listening. Step 2 : Step by Step Instructions (Cont.)

Teacher directed Activities: Creating BINGO board and then play the game Running whispering Use word chips to create sentences Unscramble words to make sentences Listen and write characters Matching pictures with the words Practicing writing characters on a small white board Typing characters on computer and insert the matching pictures Fill in blanks to complete sentences Role play activities Touching Item game Students Group Activities: Picture board—boards with pictures, 3 students in a group, one read, the other two touch the matching pictures. Using word chips to make sentences—3 students in a group, one as the reader (orally creating sentences), the other two as sentence makers Creating and practicing conversations Reading Mini books with partners Creating mini books Creating conversations according to pictures and topic given Step 2 : Step by Step Instructions (Cont.)

Step 3 : Ongoing Assessments “Checking the picture constantly” Ongoing oral assessment: constantly having oral communications with the students; Games- Mini-books- Teacher made worksheet-writing characters according to the teacher; matching pictures with words; completing conversations; unscramble the words to make sentences; creating conversations according to the picture and topic given… Role play activities- Projects- Power Point Presentations - Teacher observations- Voice records (MP3)-
