National ESOL Strategy for Scotland: March 2007 Vision Statement  That all Scottish residents for whom English is not a first language have the opportunity to access high quality English language provision so that they can acquire the language skills to enable them to participate in Scottish life…workplace …family …local community.

Vision Statement  Wherever possible, ESOL learners…encouraged to work towards the most appropriate high-quality accredited ESOL qualifications  Key stakeholders….should be made aware of ESOL accreditation…linked to SQA…(to) help progression and inclusion.
