Why raise the profile of PE across your school? An easier life Job satisfaction / enjoyment

What’s in it for the “Big Guns?” -better behaviour -improved relationships between staff and pupils -improved harmony between children across the school -pupil’s displaying improved pride in their school -improved exam results? -provision of a better life education -more pupils attending the school?

How? The Credibility of the PE Department / PE Teachers?

Earn the Respect of Fellow Staff and Parents Appearance, organisation, manner Work with staff rather than against staff regarding fixtures etc. Initiate some whole school work to illustrate the benefits sport can bring - leadership work, - themed weeks (RWC - -& Olympics) - disability awareness - global awareness (British Council - )

Building the support network What can you come up with to need more PE staff? - more than one exam route way - primary school work - responsibilities for PE staff that create free periods but do not impinge on free time after school! -Joint tutoring -Non PE staff (NQT induction session, pairing them up, looking after them) -Pupils -Alumni -External coaches
