Presentation transcript:

Malachi 3:1 (NIV) 1 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the L ORD Almighty. 2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears?

 Messenger – Prepare the way – Spirit of Elijah  First coming – John the Baptist  Second coming - Church and Elijah

Malachi 3:13-15 (NIV) 13 “You have spoken arrogantly against me,” says the Lord. "Yet you ask, ‘What have we said against you?’ 14 “You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. What do we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty ?

Malachi 3:13-15 (NIV) 15 But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly evildoers prosper, and even when they put God to the test, they get away with it.’”

Malachi 3:16-18 (NIV) 16 Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name.

Malachi 3:16 (NIV) 17 “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.

Malachi 3:16 (NIV) 18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.

Malachi 4:1 (NKJV) 1 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, "Says the L ORD of hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch.

Malachi 4:1 (NKJV) 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall- fed calves.

Malachi 4:3–5 (NKJV) 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this, "Says the L ORD of hosts. 4 “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.

Malachi 4:3–5 (NKJV) 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the L ORD.

Malachi 4:6 (NKJV) and he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Elijah – 1. a spirit of Elijah that will come upon the forerunner church 2. One of the two witnesses from the book of Revelation

 Malachi describes the end-time revival as characterized by Elijah’s ministry. Elijah’s message, will be confirmed by a manifestation of God’s power with the spirit of prophecy in a way that parallels his historic ministry (1 Kgs. 17–2 Kgs. 2)

 and Malachi’s prophecy (Mal. 4:4- 6). Malachi added a key message: turning the hearts of fathers to children, and of children to fathers.

 It is miraculous when powerful men turn their hearts to give their resources to children who cannot give anything back to them that would increase their influence or resources.

 The fatherless are those without a father in their life, not just orphans. God’s power as seen in Elijah’s ministry will draw attention to children as the focus of God’s end-time justice purposes.

 60% of children in the US have absent fathers  The prisons filled with the fatherless  Foster care system (Half a million in US)  Abuse (sexual, physical, emotional)

 Abortion: 58 million in the US since 1973 (Half a million so far in 2015 in the US) 1,338,590,000 Globally since million globally so far in 2015 *Innocent Blood Cries Out

 Close to a quarter of a billion orphans globally (increasing)  Increase of violence (Gen. 6:11,13) and the increase of lawlessness  Young men with no father

Matthew 24:12 (NKJV) And because lawlessness will abound (INCREASE), the love of many will grow cold.

Psalm 68:5 (NKJV) A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. *Knowing God as Father

1 John 3:1 (NLT) See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him.

1. Turn the hearts of natural fathers to their natural families. 2. Turn spiritual fathers (men and women) in the Church to mentor younger people. 3. Turn the fathers in society (church, government, marketplace, etc.) to the fatherless.

Malachi 4:6 …and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.  Violence among the fatherless

 Children will respond to love that is given by the fathers.  This is the first generation in which children are influenced more outside their home than inside it.

1. Turn children to their natural fathers. 2. Turn children to their spiritual fathers in the Church. 3. Turn children to those in authority in society (governmental leaders, marketplace leaders, etc.) 4. Turn children to the Jewish fathers such as Abraham, David, the prophets, and the apostles; 5. Turn children to the fathers used by the Spirit through church history in the great revivals

 Much of the end-time harvest will come from the poor youth of the nations.

 Before (verse 5): The fullness of the prophecy about Elijah’s return and the global outpouring of the Spirit will come just before Jesus returns. This great outpouring is related to God’s heart for children. Joel described the end-time outpouring of the Spirit as coming before Jesus returns (Joel 2:31)  Sons and Daughters

 An initial and partial fulfillment of this occurred in the generation of Jesus’ first coming.

 God told Moses that He would judge anyone who afflicted widows or the fatherless. Those who need a Judge most are the fatherless who are abused in human trafficking or neglected in society. One reason judgment comes is to stop those who exploit widows and orphans (Mal. 3:5) (Ex. 22:22-24) (Ps. 94:2-21)

Psalms 94: Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render punishment to the proud... 5 They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, and afflict Your heritage. 6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. 7 Yet they say, “The LORD does not see…”

Psalms 94: Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? 21 They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood…

 Jesus revealed His heart for children and linked receiving or valuing children to receiving Him. Matthew 18:5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Mark 10: They brought young children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said, “Let the little children come to Me…do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom.”

David prophesied that children’s worship would silence the enemy at the time when Jesus’ name is honored in all the nations (this will occur especially in the generation Jesus returns).

Jesus connects His end-time global prayer movement to His purposes of reaching the fatherless. Jesus quoted a prophecy of David (Ps. 8:2) when He cleansed the temple at His first coming.  (Mouth of babes He perfected praise)

 Love a fatherless generation  Disciple the end time revival leaders (the children)  Not baby sitting or a shallow moral teaching  The same Spirit is on the children  Fathering the children in the true spiritual power ready for the end time revival  Prophesy, healing, gifts, prayer, worship, Bible, …

*The largest orphan outreaches in history will be raised up by the Lord in the coming days. *I believe God’s desire is that the end-time orphan movement be turned into an apostolic missions movement. *God’s plan is to take the fatherless and make them fathers in the end-time church. *Many of the end-time apostolic and prophetic leaders in the prayer and missions movement will come from the Lord’s purpose in reaching orphans.

Ted met and married Sou while working for the U.S. Embassy in Laos for three years during the Vietnam War. Though Ted has a background in business and agriculture, they spent 12 years pastoring in Woodstock, Ill., before answering the call to the mission field in 1999.

The work in Cambodia has rapidly grown under Ted and Sou’s leadership, more than 6,000 churches or meeting places have been planted, 106 Church/ Orphan Homes are operating, and thousands of orphans and widows are being cared for.

 Care for ~ 3,000 orphans and separated children each year  Staff ~ 600 widows (one for every five children we care for)  Rescue, train, equip, and release sexually trafficked young women

 Provide advanced educational training for orphans  Continue the family relationship with 15,000 orphans who have been raised in our homes  Provide vocational training and assistance for micro-enterprises

 All the pastors of the churches were fatherless and now they are fathers (orphans)  These orphans are now doing incredible miracles on a regular bases

 15 years ago there were less than 1% of Christians in Cambodia, now it is almost 20%  Half of all Cambodia Christians are Foursquare  Over 1,000,000 salvations, multitudes of miracles
