Career Day 2008 (Geometry Project) Duncan Hammond Future Professional Basketball Player
The world of Basketball Is full of Geometry!! A basketball is really just a rubber sphere. The court is created be many different geometric shapes. The rectangle is made from parallel and perpendicular lines. Semi circles are used to identify the three point lines, and rectangles mark the free throw line.

Geometry will help me become a better shooter. It is important to have the angle of my hands aligned with the basket. If I am making mistakes I may have to reposition my arms a few degrees.
In My Profession Geometry, especially angles, are used everyday in my profession because the way may arms are set up can make the difference in winning or losing the ball game. Coaches will often track my shots to determine where changes are needed. Often they will identify problems with body alignment including the angle of my arms to improve my game.
