Geometry Review: DDI #3 March 26, 2012

What will be covered? Semester 1 material Segment addition/subtraction Angle bisectors Algebraic Proofs Special Angle Pairs (i.e. corresponding, alternate interior, alternate exterior, consecutive interior, consecutive exterior) Triangles (properties of equilateral and isosceles)

Chapter 5: Relationships in Triangles Perpendicular bisectors, angle bisectors, medians, altitudes Inequalities in triangles (relationships between angles and sides) How to determine if three sides could make a triangle (Triangle Inequality Theorem) Chapter 7: Right Triangles and Trigonometry Pythagorean Theorem Special Triangles Trigonometric Ratios Solving right triangles using trig Angle of elevation/depression Chapter 6: Ratios and Proportions Solving proportions using cross-multiplication Similar polygons

How should I study? 1.Practice, Practice, Practice! Do as many practice problems as possible that cover the previous topics Go through all examples Cornell notes Quiz problems Homework problems Test problems 2.Come to tutoring if there is a topic you are not sure about! Will be tutoring Tuesday after school- Room 318

Test Day: Wednesday, March 28 WE WANT TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geometry class with the most improvement from DDI#2 will win an all-class reward!!!! P.S. Don’t forget to bring a pencil!!!!

JEORPARDY REVIEW GAME! 1.Teams of 3-4 players 2.First category will be selected at random- for remainder of game team that first answers the question correctly will get to choose the next category 3.One person per team is designated as ‘Spokesperson’ – only this person can tell me the category/point value for the question 4.One person per team is designated as ‘Scribe’- this person is in charge of writing down the team’s final answer on the whiteboard. I will only accept the answer from this person. 5.ALL students MUST write down and attempt ALL problems. If there is anyone on your team ‘slacking’ and not participating in attempting the problem, your team will be disqualified from the question. 6.How to win! 1.First team to correctly answer the question and show me the solution will receive 50 points. 2.Second team to answer correctly will receive 25 points 3.Third team to answer correctly will receive 10 points 4.Team with the highest point total at end of game wins! 7.I am the official scorekeeper. 8.Winning team will receive points toward their DDI #3 exam.
