Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness7 Fact Book  The Fact Book provides information about the college to support sound planning and decision-making, as well as provide an historical perspective of the institution. It is designed to be used as a reference for documenting data to support academic and administrative decisions.  It also functions as a handbook for faculty wishing to gain a college-wide perspective. Topics include a brief college history, a description of the service area, and data related to the College's student body academics, personnel, financial position, facilities, and outcomes indicators. Data are provided for multiple years with graphs and charts for at-a- glance comparisons.

Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness11 MISATFOR  Management Information Systems Advisory Task Force (MISATFOR) is a task force that has representatives from each of the community colleges. The purpose is to assure useful, consistent, and accurate data collection while at the same time working to reduce the reporting burden by avoiding duplication of data.

Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness12 Institutional Survey Reports  Students are surveyed periodically during their tenure at the College.  Institutional Survey Reports include the results of Entering Student Survey, Enrolled Student Survey, Graduating Student Survey, Recent Alumni Survey, Employer Survey, and Community College Survey of Student Engagement.

Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness14 Institutional Survey Reports  The Enrolled Student Survey (ENSS) was developed at St. Petersburg College (SPC) as one component of a college- wide assessment system to ensure the delivery of quality academic and student support services.  The specific purposes of this annual survey is to ascertain how our enrolled students perceive the College and determine both the importance and level of satisfaction of enrolled students with the College's academic and student support services. Subsequently, this information is to be used by the faculty and administration to establish quality improvement initiatives that benefit our students.

Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 Institutional Survey Reports  The Entering Student Survey (ESS) developed by St. Petersburg College is part of a comprehensive college-wide assessment program to ensure that the College delivers quality academic and support services to students.  The primary purpose of the ESS is to develop a demographic profile of the students entering the College, discover what factors influence their decision to apply to the College, discern how they learned about the College, and measure their perception of the importance of various academic, student support services and tutoring areas provided to them by the College. Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 Institutional Survey Reports  The Graduating Student Survey (GSS) is part of a comprehensive college-wide assessment program developed to examine the demographic profile of the responding graduates, assess their perceptions of the educational experience at the College and determine how the educational process at the College has changed their behavior and/or their knowledge as it relates to some specific areas of inquiry (educational outcomes).  The GSS is available to students applying for graduation on-line during all three terms of each academic year. Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness19 Institutional Survey Reports Employer Survey was designed to:  Gain insight into an employer’s perceptions of hired SPC graduates in the areas of key general education competencies and foundational skills  Provide the employee’s major job responsibilities and wage information, as well as employer’s willingness to hire another SPC graduate  Identify employer’s willingness to support various college activities

Finding and Accessing Information at SPC October 2009 October 23, 2009 Institutional Research and Effectiveness21 Ed Outcomes Online  To provide a medium for completing the draft educational assessment reports as well as establishing a repository for program specific information, SPC developed an Educational Assessment Web site (  College administration and instructional staff are provided access to “completed” assessment reports including the APAR (Program & Gen Ed) and the CAPR  Online access further encourages the use of assessment data as well as highlighting “best practices” across the college
