APIS Advance Passenger Information System  APIS is a program within CBP that screens passengers and crew members traveling on international flights. APIS collects biographical data from international air passengers and crew members traveling into or departing from the U.S. APIS collects biographical data from international air passengers and crew members traveling into or departing from the U.S.

APIS Aircraft operators must: Transmit passenger manifest information for aircraft scheduled to arrive or depart from the U.S. prior to closing of the aircraft doors. APIS Quick Query (AQQ) AQQ is intended to prevent a passenger of interest from boarding an aircraft. AQQ allows for real-time transmission and automated screening of passenger data prior to boarding. When a passenger checks into a flight, specific information is required to be sent to CBP by the airline in order to issue a boarding pass.
