Let’s keep distractions to a minimum. Please keep your cell phones off in class. Keep any other electronics put away. No food in the classroom, but water is reasonable.

Required materials Binder with US History section 2-3 Pens and 2-3 pencils Colored pencils Eraser Notebook paper Pencil Sharpener with catch for shavings Subject Dividers Backpack

What will we be doing today? “Get ready” -Directions will be up on the screen. You can check white board to see what the day’s objective will be.

Grading The percentage scale below will be used to determine your progress report and quarter report ACADEMIC grades. Your academic grade will consist of tests, quizzes, and projects. Your assignments will be graded using a point system. For each assignment, the number of points you receive out of a total possible number of points will determine a percentage correct. You can match the percentage (in the scale below) with the letter or number grade to see at what level you are producing assignments. A= 90 – 100%= Advanced = Excelling at standards B/C= 70 – 89%= Proficient = Meets the standards D= 60 – 69%= Basic = Progressing toward standards F= 1 – 59%= Below Basic = Not meeting standards/Far Below Basic You will also receive a RESPONSIBILITY grade, which will include homework completion, behavior, attendance, and participation in class.

Your AGENDA is important! How is it used? Copy the objective for the day. Write your class/homework assignments. Your agenda is also a hall pass (Passport).

I got an “F” in 7 th grade Language Arts. I had my own horse when I was 9. I had an afro in high school. I LOVE chocolate!!! I have been scuba diving. I am a hard worker.
