Elmer Gantry Recording – March, 2010  Recording Master was produced from a combination of two live performances and final dress rehearsal  As a cost savings, no patch session was used  Sound Mirror of Boston did all production and engineering  Before recording, an agreement was in place with Naxos for post production and release

Gantry Expenses - continued  Miscellaneous - $ Total Expenses - $65,  Naxos covered all post production and distribution costs, with the exception of payments made to liner note annotators.  Unlike Rio de Sangre, Naxos retained rights to the recording

Gantry Recording continued Miscellaneous:  As an AGMA company, we had to negotiate fees with AGMA and AF of M. The only performer not covered by a union agreement for the recording was the conductor. His fee was negotiated separately.

Gantry recording continued  Perhaps because of two Grammy wins (Best classical composition, best engineered recording) the recording received, the recording actually generated royalties – $1500 to date.

Rio de Sangre recording, October 2011  Recording was produced from a combination of three live performances and an orchestra only patch session  Sound Mirror of Boston did all production and engineering  Unlike Gantry, no label agreement was in place before recording took place (Albany Records ultimately released it)

Rio de Sangre expenses  Artist fees (chorus and principals) - $23,201  Orchestra fees - $13,800  Conductor fee - $3000  Sound Mirror fee - $30,545  Marcus Center Mics and Stagehands - $3015  Sound Mirror travel - $3000  Accompanist - $450

Sangre expenses continued  Sound Mirror housing - $1816 Total Expenses - $78,827  Albany Records covered all post production and distribution costs  Composer retained all rights to recording

Rio de Sangre income  Donations - $2650  Remainder covered privately, not through company fundraising efforts

Sangre recording continued Miscellaneous:  As an AGMA company, we had to negotiate fees with AGMA and AF of M. The only performer not covered by a union agreement for the recording was the conductor. His fee was negotiated separately.  Recording was released in November, 2011, and was a Grammy winner in the Producer of the Year category
