It is the uniqueness that each of us brings to the workplace, including: Race Ethnicity Gender Socioeconomic status Background Life experiences People w/disabilities Country/region of origin Language Work style Education Functional area of expertise Sexual orientation At Tyco, diversity means more than differences in race, ethnicity and gender. 4

Diversity & Inclusion: The Basics What is inclusion? Creating an environment where everyone feels respected and appreciated – so we can individually and collectively do our best work. Inclusion makes us feel welcome and supported in the workplace. 5

Diversity & Inclusion: The Basics How do diversity and inclusion work together? Diversity and inclusion go hand in hand. Differences bring about creativity and innovation. Being accepting and supportive of those differences is just as important. Through diversity, we access the best people; through inclusion we inspire the best in our people. 6

Diversity & Inclusion: The Basics Why is diversity and inclusion a priority at Tyco? It’s necessary for us to develop as individuals and as a team. A diverse workforce and an inclusive culture will help us achieve our business goals and serve as a competitive advantage for our company. 7

Market Leadership: As we grow globally, a diverse workforce and inclusive culture help ensure our competitive advantage in existing and new markets. Technology & Innovation: A diverse workforce and inclusive culture spurs innovation. It challenges our way of thinking, serves as a catalyst for new ideas and considers different perspectives – which encourages the development of new, products and services. 10

Diversity & Inclusion: Why It Matters It enables the achievement of our business goals. Operational Excellence: Improving processes requires cross-business and cross-functional collaboration and creative problem-solving. Accepting unique perspectives and experiences is necessary to reach consensus and develop solutions. How You Can Help 24

Diversity & Inclusion: How You Can Help We’re all responsible for diversity and inclusion. Our actions should… Be free from bias and open to new approaches, perspectives and experiences. Make others feel welcome to present new ideas that promote innovation and collaboration. Inspire everyone– from colleagues to customers – to help us grow. 25

Diversity & Inclusion: How You Can Help You also can be inclusive by: Inviting a variety of people with different styles, positions, ages and experiences when building a new team. Broadening your personal network by reaching out to employees from other communities. Thinking about your personal biases. Do you usually choose to work with people who are just like you? 26

Diversity & Inclusion: How You Can Help Remember, it’s expected that we all: Notice and address bias when we see it Be respectful in all interactions – in person or otherwise Are not afraid to speak up and share ideas Make it easy and comfortable for others to share their viewpoints We can make a vital difference by making the most of our differences. 27
