Battalion Commander C/LTC School Activities: Member of Ranger Swim, Orienteering Team, PALs, Student United Way, and Varsity Track & Field. Plans After High School: Army ROTC at University of Houston. Continuous Improvement Project: Recruiting and Retention. As the Battalion Commander, I am the highest ranking cadet of this unit. My responsibilities within the battalion include setting the best example for all cadets to follow, coordinating regularly with member of command staff and class leaders, and ultimately being responsible for whatever the battalion does or fails to do. Today, I will be briefing you on the organization of 4th battalion, including the introduction of my staff; the JROTC mission statement; learning objectives of the program and core abilities.
Battalion Executive Officer C/MAJ School Activities: Color Guard, Creative Writing, and Literary Magazine. Plans After High School: Write and publish book of short stories before 19th birthday, publish first novel by 20th birthday. Contribution:
Battalion S-1 Battalion Adjutant C/CPT School Activities: Member of the Color Guard, PT, Orienteering, Ranger Swim Teams, Student United Way, TAFE, and Mu Alpha Theta. Plans After High School: Obtain a degree in teaching. Contribution: Provided staff with enrollment numbers. Ensures cadets receive merits for activities performed.
Battalion S-2 Intelligence and Security Officer C/2LT School Activities: Color guard (Band). Plans After High School: Attend Sam Houston State University to major in Criminal Justice. Contribution: Created Cadet Climate Survey.
Battalion S-3 Operations and Training Officer C/MAJ School Activities: Gamer’s Guild and Color Guard Commander. Plans After High School: Attend Reedley Junior College for an Aircraft Power Plant Certification, entering the workforce in chosen profession. Contribution: Coordinates with the school officials to involve the program into school functions. Enters events into JUMS.
Battalion S-4 Logistics and Supply Officer C/CPT School Activities: Art Club, mentoring 4th & 5th graders with VEX IQ, and participating in the VEX & FIRST. After High School: Attend Texas A&M to get a Masters in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Contribution: Created mathematical analyses used for the yearly goal. Issued out uniforms to cadets.
Battalion S-5 Public Affairs Officer C/CPT School Activities: Member of Ranger Swim, PT team, Color Guard, Drill Team, Orienteering, JLAB, Student United Way Officer, HOSA, and Interact. Plans After High School: Attend college to become a prenatal nurse. Contribution: Designed new posters that were strategically placed around the school, introduced the Cadet Corner into the school newspaper. Publicized program to the school and the community.
Battalion S-6 Information Technology Officer C/SFC School Activities: Command Drill Team, Honor Guard, Orienteering, PT Team, and JLAB. Plans After High School: Attending the USNA. Contribution: Designed and developed the JROTC website for Clear Springs HS. Assisted in the mathematical analysis used for yearly goal.
Battalion Command Sergeant Major C/CSM School Activities: PT Team, Ranger Swim, Orienteering, Rally Leaders, PALs, Interact Officer, Student United Way, and Culture Club. Plans After High School: Attend a 4 year university on an ROTC scholarship and major in Criminal Justice. Contribution: Established Cadet of the Quarter and publicized the program through Rally Leaders.
Continuous Improvement Project: Recruiting and Retention Goal: Attain and maintain an opening enrollment of 125 cadets. Problem: Barely making mission at the beginning of every year. Identified during course signups last spring that we would only open enrollment with 75 cadets. Can not sustain required standard with current trend.
Problem Analysis LTC Cianciotto brought the opening enrollment count to the attention of the staff. Opening enrollment count was 75 including the incoming freshman. As a staff we agreed that it was not a suitable number, began planning ways to increase the number of incoming cadets, and to sustain upward of 125 cadets.

SMART Goal Specific Attain and maintain a satisfactory opening enrollment. Measurable Opening enrollment of 125 Cadets yearly. Attainable Draw from the school population of 2461 students. Relevant Create an attractive program in order to diversify our cadet population and create a legacy. Time-Bound Establish glide path to achieve goal within 3 years.
Plan of Attack Phase I: Opening Enrollment SY 14-15 Participate in a multitude of events and activities to publicize the program in order to attract students. Phase II: Glide Path to Success Recognize the achievements of cadets and increase morale through the integration of battalion participation in school/community events.
Phase I: Opening Enrollment Fish Camp: Team push ups Acting like cheerleaders Marched Demonstrations Miss JROTC Raffle (Booster club basket) Cadets in other groups talked about JROTC Gave away t-shirts from national guard and a free raffle ticket to those who signed up Talking To Feeder Schools LTC Cianciotto and C/LTC Cagnon went to Creekside, Victory Lakes, and Brookside to speak to the LDC cadets about JROTC (What it is and what it’s about)

Classes: SAI visited physical education courses in order to promote the program and its benefits

Phase II: Glide Path Senior Night: Senior LET 4’s got recognized for their 4 year participation within JROTC Allowed the program to be publicly recognized with other major athletic programs from the school Rally Leader: Rally leaders is an organization compromised of 10 high speed cadets that are present and on the sidelines for every home football game. Rally leaders builds community and student support for JROTC. This Organization gets the program’s name out in the school and gets students talking about JROTC.
