I can’t use YouTube because… –it’s blocked by the school. –the Internet connection is not reliable. –the related videos and ads are not always appropriate. But, YouCan use YouTube (and other video sources)!

–Over 3 billion hours of video are watched each month. –More video is uploaded to YouTube in one month than the 3 major US networks created in 60 years. –500 years of YouTube videos are watched every day on Facebook. –70% of YouTube traffic comes from outside the US.

Once Freecorder 5 is installed, you can use the following toolbar buttons in your browser to: Save videos from YouTube and other sites. Save recently viewed videos on your PC's hard drive. Record any sound you can hear from your PC's speakers. Convert video and audio files.

Downloading and Saving Videos Option 1 1.Find a video in YouTube. 2.Play the video. 3.Click on the YouTube button in the Freecorder toolbar. 4.Select a download link, and choose Save As to save the file to your PC.

Downloading and Saving Videos Option 2 (Freecorder keeps track of the videos you watch, similar to your Internet browsing history.) 1.Click the Video History button. 2.Select the file to save, and then click on the Save button. 3.You can rename the file and save it to the desired directory.

Converting Videos In order to integrate saved videos into PowerPoint presentations, they must be converted and saved into a PowerPoint compatible format. 1.Click on the Convert button. 2.A list of your recorded files will appear. Select the box next to the file you want to convert. 3.Pick the target format from the Select New Format list. In this case, select WMV. 4.Select the directory to save the file to. 5.Click Begin to start the conversion. 6.Once the conversion process has finished, select Exit.

Embedding Videos into PowerPoint 1.Select the Insert tab on the PowerPoint toolbar. 2.Click on the Video button in the toolbar. 3.Select Video from file, and locate the file you would like to embed.

Things to Remember You must save your video and the related PowerPoint into one folder on your computer or storage device. If you do not save them together, the video will not play! PowerPoint file Video file

Video Assessment Create an online quiz using Google Docs –

1.Click on red Create button. 2.Select Form from the drop down menu. 3.Select a theme or leave plain. 4.Questions 1 and 2 should ask for first and last name. 5.Add additional questions (items). A variety of question types are available (text, paragraph, multiple choice, checkboxes, choose from a list, scales, and grids). 6.Save the form! 7.The form can be ed or embedded into a blog or Web site.
