Race start is chaotic Video made by the kids for promo and fundraising Sportsmanship Camaraderie Pretty smooth trail We will give you the tools to be the best possible rider & racer (tactics)

We will focus on skills initially to insure everyone is capable of riding the terrain Rider clinics Weekday rides will be on front range open space parks Weekend rides will be epic and scenic experiences with camping options Kids of all shapes, sizes and abilities Kids will be grouped by ability for rides Disciplinary action (hopefully not necessary)

June – July: one week day ride (~10 miles) focused on racing skills and fitness; one weekend day fun ride (~20 miles) (Contingent on insurance) August: two week day rides and one weekend ride; ramping up for race season September – October: race and hit the books

Kids are responsible for: Fund raising ideas/implementation Sponsorship acquisition (accompanied by coach) Transportation arrangement Bike is in working order, gear, inhaler, epi-pen Coordinate food and drinks Recruitment Race day directions/accommodations info Respect and support your teammates & nature Good sportsmanship No profanity Appropriate music Rules of trail yields and closures When coach is talking, show respect and listen

To expose kids to the sport of mountain biking Have as much fun as possible Be safe Increase self confidence Self reliance and responsibility Make cardio animals (life long lifestyle of health, fitness & nutrition)

Race heats by grade and gender: 9/10 Girls, JV Girls, Varsity Girls, 9 Boys, 10 Boys, JV Boys and Varsity Boys 5 mile laps: 9/10 Girls (2 laps), JV Girls and 9 & 10 Boys (3 laps), Varsity Girls & JV Boys (4 laps) and Varsity Boys (5 laps) Hydrate day before race and day of race Nutrition Pre-ride course Saturday or Sunday before 1 st Heat Nathrop, Devil’s Thumb, Bear Creek and Elbert Smooth non-technical trail
