Awards & Incentives Committee Agents, PA’s, Volunteers & Youth – If you are interested in serving on this committee, me. Purpose – Guide & Direct State programming efforts – Make suggestions for improvements/changes – Provide a district contact for counties

County Staff/Agents Role & Expectations Develop a county awards program to include the components that were just mentioned Provide training on all areas of awards: – application process, guidelines, incentives, county categories, deadlines, etc Screen on the County Level before coming to District or State Competition Achievement Program to recognize winners –Youth are active in 4-H because it benefits them personally so agents need to develop recognition opportunities that recognize their 4-H’ers. 4-H ACHIEVEMENT PLAN

4-H Achievement Plan Awards Committee updated this year. Will release new form in January, 2015

Designed to use on the county level only Begin developing life skills on record keeping, planning/organizing, goal setting, teamwork, sharing etc. Form One Level per year May take more than one year to complete a level Age Levels Cloverbud 9-18

Awards  County Level Only Cloverbud 5-6 Achievement Award Cloverbud 7-8 Achievement Award Green Clover Bronze Silver Gold Achievement Medal – must be purchased by county from National 4-H Supply (AKA…The 4-H Mall). Committee has recommended that we recognize the Achievement Medal Winners at 4-H Congress.

Project Records Forms – Committee is working to release a new form in 2015 for 13 – 15 & , forms are slated for release in the fall, winter of 2015 Forms are going to compliment 4-H Portfolio Looking for funding to increase award level to $100 from $50.

NC 4-H Portfolio What:A record of 3 years work in a project Why:4-H’ers learn to share and process, develop life skills Who:13-15 and How:Transfer information from project records onto portfolio record form. Includes project accomplishments, leadership, community service, citizenship, story and other supporting materials.

Electric Portfolio’s A 4-H’er who completes an Electric Portfolio is not guaranteed a trip to NC 4-H Electric Congress. Portfolio Electric Congress Delegates are selected based on the quality and content of their portfolio by a trained selection committee. All books are expected to meet the State Office format requirements.

Selection criteria include: Knowledge and skills gained while participating in the 4-H Electric Project Exhibit an increase in knowledge each year 4-H experiences in Leadership, Citizenship & Community Service Sharing the 4-H Electric program with others (includes teaching or assisting with electric project activities)

Presentation Cloverbud participation will continue to be a part of all DAD’s. Outdoor Cooking – all 9-10 & year olds must have an adult who is responsible for them at District Day and State Presentation Finals.

Membership in this organization shall be a reward for outstanding service to 4-H Club work as symbolized in the objectives of Article II of this Constitution. Before becoming a member of this organization, a member shall: – have actively engaged in and completed three (3) or more years of 4-H work and – shall be at least sixteen (16) years of age and not over twenty (20) years of age on January 1 of the year inducted regardless of marital status – shall be eligible for membership if he or she is still active in 4- H work and community activities.
