The decline…  Golf rounds declined 13.6%, with a loss of more than 55 million rounds, since 2000  Number of golfers declined 11% from 30.2 million in 2005 to 25 million in 2013

Golf course closings…  The number of golf courses in the US peaked in 2004 at 16,000, but declines annually, with a net loss of 5-10% anticipated over the next 10 years  Last year 157 courses closed while only 14 new courses opened
