Mobility Focus: Living Democracy through Sport

Flying in & accommodation  We need your flight details and participants details until 17th April /see table below/.  Our hosting families are able to accept max 16 students. Families can accommodate students from Saturday/Sunday to Wednesday morning.  Airport arrival and transfer - Teachers from Roerich School will wait for you at Sofia Airport according to flight schedule.  Teacher Accommodation - Teachers will be accommodated at Vitosha Tulip Hotel.  Both students and teachers have free time on Saturday and Sunday. Support and emergency telephone will be available 24 hours.

Vitosha Tulip Hotel  We chose Vitosha tulip hotel as your host hotel. The advantages are perfect location, best prices and excellent service.  Vitosha Tulip hotel is situated at the foot of Vitosha mountain in the center of the Dragalevtsi neighborhood, Only two minutes walking distance from Roerich school.  The hotel has conference halls and meeting room, traditional and classic restaurant, coffee shop.  Free wi-fi internet in the whole complex.

MONDAY 12th May Events of the day: Welcome and Opening at Vitosha Tulip Hotel Conference Room Presentations of partner schools. Timing : 8/10 minutes per country Presenting order: Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria /Added Value Element Sports achievements of each partner country and school/ Unforgetable trip to one of the oldest cities in Europe – Plovdiv /travel distance: 120 kilometres from Sofia/

TUESDAY 13th May Events of the day:  Meeting at Roerich School and Familiarization School Tour  Comenius Olympics - Focus Activity: Sports Event at Sportna Sofia Sports Facility. All participants are transported by bus to the sports facility and back.  Teacher Team Meeting at Vitosha Tulip Hotel Conference Room.  Students – Art Workshop at Roerich School.  Roerich Music Salon

 A traditional music event, where students present different musical performances. Every year there is a guest musician from Bulgaria or abroad.  We are happy to invite participant musicians from all Comenius guests to take part  One participant per country. They can play the piano, other instruments or sing. The duration of the performance should be max 4 minutes.  The deadline to inform us about your participation is the 17 th April. Principles and rules of the Games  All countries together in friendship, support and team cooperation 2 International Teams per each game – Team Freedom and Team  Fair play Each country nominates 2 players per game. In case of 2 students travelling, they play in all games but in different teams In case of more students travelling the country decides which students take part and in which game. In this case we encourage more students to play The same number of players per country play in each team /Bulgaria will divide the players in the 2 teams according to age, gender and country table with students and chosen sports/ Each country nominates 1 teacher for a coach. Coaches will know which team and which sport they will coach on the day of the games  Confidence, joint leadership and decision making Teams build their strategy together on the field Coaches don’t build strategy – they only unite, encourage and motivate the team A player can ask the coach for a change if they feel tired or sick and the coach chooses among the reserve players  FUN! FUN! FUN!

Awards  Each member of the winning team in each game receives a medal  In case all 3 games are won by the same team, the other team receive a medal for participation  Each country receives a Cup for participation in Comenius Olympics 2014

Wednesday 14th May Events of the day Summary of Mobility 4. Evaluation of results. Planning and tasks for Mobility 5. Certificates, closing and saying Goodbye. Coffee and sweets treat.
