511 versus 511 Contra Costa 511 is the universal transportation information number in the Country. In the Bay Area, it is administered by MTC, along with 511.org. MTC’s 511 Rideshare program 511.org/rideshare, houses the Bay Area’s carpool/vanpool ridematch database and employer outreach for 5 counties (Santa Clara, Marin, Napa, Sonoma and Alameda) MTC- delegated counties to conduct employer outreach: CCC, San Mateo and SF

511 Contra Costa Background Measure C Ordinance –TDM Ordinance Requirements of Local Jurisdictions/ Measure J Extended Requirements to include Ordinances or Resolutions Established 4 Regional Offices, one in each of the four RTPC regions; in 1997 the TRANSPAC and TRANSPLAN TDM Programs merged Measure J – reauthorization of Measure C and TDM Ordinance/Resolution requirements with line item for TDM  Continued operation of Lamorinda School Bus Program and the inauguration of TRAFFIX and other projects that reduce school related congestion, or improve the safety of children traveling to and from schools; Safe Transportation for Children category 2005 – Changed agency overall name to 511 Contra Costa 2010 – Changed 511 CC logo using national 511 logo standards

511 Contra Costa Transportation Demand Management Program (TDM) Three 511 Contra Costa offices, serving all 20 jurisdictions TRANSPAC/TRANSPLAN TDM - Central and East County including Walnut Creek, Clayton, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, Brentwood and unincorporated County (Lynn Overcashier, office in Pleasant Hill) SWAT TDM- South County including San Ramon, Danville, Lamorinda cities and unincorporated County (Lisa Bobadilla, Program Manager; office in San Ramon) WCCTAC TDM-West County including the cities of San Pablo, El Cerrito, Richmond, Hercules, Pinole and unincorporated County (Linda Young, Program Manager; office in San Pablo)

Transportation Demand Management Employer and Residential Trip Reduction Programs The primary goal of the 511 Contra Costa (511 CC) Employer TDM Program is to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality through the reduction of single occupant car trips. 511 CC provides technical assistance to employers and promotes the implementation of the 511 Contra Costa Countywide Incentive Programs. Commuter Incentive Programs are available to residents as well as those who are employed anywhere in Contra Costa.

Telework – 511 CC has info on formalizing a telework program Variable Work Hours - There are several types of Variable Work Hours programs: Compressed Work Week- Employees complete their required number of weekly hours in fewer days than the typical five-day workweek. For example, employees may work four 10-hour workdays instead of the usual five 8-hour workdays in one week. Flex-Time- Employees vary their start and end times while maintaining a core set of work hours. Staggered Work Schedules- Spread out the peak commuting period to relieve traffic congestion around the worksite. VMT Trip Reduction Strategies
