Proceedings and Report of the Expert Meeting: Arrangements Proceedings and Report of the Expert Meeting: Arrangements

 Options for publishing the proceedings of the meeting as a book: - Agricultural systems - Book to be published by Springer  Journal option will require that papers should be written in the format of the journal ie., introduction, sections and conclusions.  Journal option also requires that all papers have to be peer reviewed ie., by two external reviewers and have to be revised as per the comments of the reviewers.  Journal option could also mean that the issue may not come out until end of Proposed Arrangements for Proceedings

 Springer book - Could be brought out within 6-9 months - Papers could be written in the format of a review paper. - No need for external reviewers. Holger and Shiv could handle the editing task.  If this option is chosen, then following is the suggested schedule: - All authors should prepare their papers by 30 April 2005 and send them to the editors (please see the guidelines for paper preparation) - Editors to edit the papers and correspond with authors for any clarifications and compile the final version by 30 June Book can be published by 31 December Proposed Arrangements for Proceedings

 Suggested length of the papers: maximum 20 pages (line spacing 1.5) including tables and figures  Please limit color diagrams to a minimum since the cost of the book depends on the number of color diagrams  Line drawings, bar diagrams and pie diagrams should be in black and white.  Remote sensing images, maps and photos could be in color.  Please submit your paper to WMO by 30 April 2005  Delay by even one author will delay the publication of the book, so please cooperate by submitting your paper on time. Guidelines for paper preparation

 Report of the meeting will be compiled and will be finalized by Holger, Leader of the ET and Shiv.  Report will consist of an introduction, session summaries, conclusions and recommendations and the list of participants.  Holger and Shiv to compile the draft report by 28 Feb 2005 and send it to ET members for their comments and suggestions, if any.  Report to be finalized by 15 March 2005 and to be posted on WMO web page.
