Our Board of Education graduation requirements include academic, applied education and fine arts courses Students are encouraged to explore new areas of study and enrichment courses including: college partnership courses, performing and visual arts courses Juniors are provided the opportunity to take the Accuplacer placement test to determine academic strengths and weaknesses. Students are provided with the resources to improve their skills
Teachers make course recommendations for the upcoming year on the semester one report card Students receive a course selection form to complete Students meet individually with counselors to review and select courses for the upcoming year With the counselor, students review required grades and prerequisites for selected classes and check that graduation requirements are being met Students who wish to take a course for which they have not received a recommendation must conference with the teacher to discuss the skills needed to be successful in the desired course and outline the goals If a student fulfills the goals outlined by the teacher by the end of the school year, the recommendation will be changed
