The Federal Bureaucracy The three jobs of the Executive Departments and agencies is to turn new laws into action, administer day-to day operations of the federal government, and regulate various activities. Independent Agencies are not part of the cabinet Executive Agencies-NASA, Government Corporations-like private businesses but government owned (U.S. Postal Service) Regulatory Boards and Commissions-these do not report to the president, designed to protect the public.
