I am a junior at Coastal Carolina University studying Art and Communications. I have worked at the Kimbel Library for two and a half years. I currently intern at Student Computing Services. I like to work on my novel, but I am not going to publish it I only do it for fun. My favorite book is Dante’s Inferno it is about a man named Dante who must journey through the nine circles of the underworld to get the love of his life back. My favorite shows are Auction Hunters and Storage Wars it is a show about a gamble on finding rare items. MY BIOGRAPHY

 To be an independent individual  Learning to know what I need and do not need to buy  Making the right financial choices  To be able to manage my personal finances  By using good judgment when it comes to buying a house  Learning to keep up with the maintenance of my home  To learn better grooming skills  Shave daily  Keeping my hair combed down WHY AM I IN THE LIFE ™ PROGRAM?

Interdependent Living Goals  Grooming: I need to work on shaving and combing my hair daily so that I will look professional in the morning  Staying on topic: I need to work on staying on topic when someone is speaking  My drivers license: I need to work on getting my driver’s license so I can drive my family places if they can not drive  Attire: I am working on wearing appropriate clothes that are acceptable for school and formal gatherings  Budgeting: I am working on saving at lease $20 a week Career-Related Goals  Employable Work Skills: I am working on learning good work skills by having different work experiences  Computer Training: I am working on learning more about computer software, and learning how to fix computers that are severely infected by viruses WHAT ARE MY PERSONAL GOALS?

 I need to work more on my on my personal grooming  I am making progress on dressing appropriately for school and formal gatherings  I have made little progress on staying on topic, but I still need to work on this skill  I resolved on saving $20 dollars, but I am hoping to increase the amount to $30 or $40 dollars by next year  I am making little progress to get my driver’s license by studying my driver’s manual  I have made some progress on my attire by dressing nice for different settings  I have made progress on how to use Combofix and other computer software  I am hoping to gain more knowledge about computers so I can diagnose computers and fix them on my own  I am continuing gaining work experience for both the library and my internship at Student Computing Services PROGRESS ON PAST PERSONAL GOALS

 Helpful  I am very helpful when it comes to my friends and family. For example I am helpful with the other students, mentors and instructors regarding different activities.  Intelligent  I enjoy learning about new things by doing some research about the topic so I am well be prepared.  Open-minded  I love attending events that stand for a good cause like “Take back the Night.” I believe that everyone has voice and that voice needs to be heard without the fear of being judged. WHAT ARE MY ATTRIBUTES?

 Listen to music by artists like Serj Tankian, Apocalyptica and Escape the fate  Solve the Kakuro puzzles that is in the weekly Surge newspaper  Work on my novel  Playing golf with friends  Drawing, sketching and painting art work  Singing to the radio WHAT I LIKE TO DO?

 I like fact that we get to choose our own classes the classes that I am currently taking Foundation to Journalism and Mass Communication and Fundamentals of Art I  I really enjoy the campus freedom, which I got by successfully completing the campus checklist by going to one building to another  Staying on campus during the weekends, which is pretty good because I get to work on some school work and do my laundry WHAT DO I LIKE ABOUT BEING IN THE LIFE ™ PROGRAM?

 Troubleshooting computer problems when they occur by stay up-to-date on the latest software  Servicing computers from time to make sure there in working order  Working in an office setting while coordinating with other technicians or engineers on computers  Using basic knowledge on electrical wiring and equipment CAREER ASPIRATIONS: COMPUTER TECH

 Library Assistant: There are a number of jobs that fall under Library Assistant and those jobs are Library tech Assistant, Media Aid, Library media Assistant, Library Aid, and Circulation Assistant. My duties as a Library Assistant are checking in and out books and other items. Then I moved up to a Library tech Assistant there I check in and out items from computers to flip-cams. FIRST INTERNSHIP: KIMBEL LIBRARY

 I have learned how to check in and out books and other library materials  Conducted some money transactions back when the printers were behind the circulation desk  I have learned that I must be ready for anything it may be slow one minute the next really busy  Good judgment skills when a problem comes up I find a way to fix it WHAT SKILLS AM I LEARNING AT MY INTERNSHIP AT THE LIBRARY?

 As an Intern at Student Computing Services I help students with computer problems such as wireless not responding then have to go delete viruses by using USB drives and Combofix  As an intern I clean out laptops by uninstalling expired virus- protection and installing Microsoft essentials  If I cannot remove a virus from a student’s computer I do a factory reset, which takes a computer and brings it back to the day it was bought off the shelf  I complete a system restore when I cannot get past troubleshooting SECOND INTERNSHIP: STUDENT COMPUTING SERVICES

 Foundation of Journalism and Mass Communication Class- I learned that when television first came out it was just a TV-radio with no picture and people lives centered around broadcasts. By the 1950’s it became TV, but it only had a small screen and a few channels but as the years went on it got a more advanced.  Foundation of Art 1- I have learned patience when it comes to mixing colors. I have made different paintings by purifying tinting toning and shading. CAREER RELATED COURSES (ART AND MASS COMMUNICATION)

 Fixing computers by troubleshooting  Learned communication came a long way from the 1900’s  Joined Student Artist Society (SAS) through Mary and I really enjoy being part of a club  How to purify, tint, tone and shade colors  Meeting deadlines for school projects WHAT HAVE I LEARNED THIS SCHOOL YEAR?

 I plan to get a job at Lowe’s Food or for the summer  I also plan to visit my friend Josh  Go golfing with my mom  To work on my novel  Start a checking account  Going to the annual NF picnic WHAT ARE MY PLANS FOR THIS SUMMER?
