Developing and Designing a Web Site

Consider these Questions Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

Plan Research Decide on a purpose Determine who will work on the project Establish authority Develop a budget Set up a timeline

Design Determine the structure of the site Use a storyboard What will be included? Decide on the physical appearance

Gather Content Collect the information to put on the web (URL’s, calendars, lessons) Organize the materials

Create the Pages Start coding either from scratch or using HTML editors or web authoring software FrontPage Netscape Composer Proofread and testrun

Hypertext Markup Language HTML Supplies information about the page’s structure, appearance, and content to the web browser. One trick to learn HTML is to choose View/Source from the menu of your web browser.

Yahoo! And MSN offer free web hosting and even provide the tools you need to create and format a simple web page. –Yahoo geocities at –Cybercities
