Work-Based Learning - Scenario Examples ScenariosUsersFunctions Manufacturing work-based learning programs are supported by employers across several regions. Educators need to include them with local programs. Educators and Employers Work-based learning app connects educators to local employers to identify opportunities, number of openings, qualifications, time required, and other details to match students with opportunities. Parents are not aware that their child can get hands-on experience and earn credits with an internship program. Parents and Students Work-based learning app connects parents and their child to local employers to identify opportunities, number of openings, qualifications, time required, credit earned, and application to participate. Educators need to identify more opportunities for work-based learning with STEM programs of study. Educators Connect educators directly with employers and other community organizations to implement local programs. Some students learn best with opportunities for hands-on work experiences. Students Students use app to see opportunities, requirements, credits earned, and apply to participate. Some students will stay in high school because they know that the work-based learning they participate with is helping to set them up in a job right out of school. Students and Parents Clear information about and access to work- based learning is available to students. Students want to have work experience and earn credits for graduation. Students and Parents Clear information about and access to work- based learning is available to students.

Examples of How STEM Learning Exchanges Can Use ISLE for Work-Based Learning Decrease costs by sharing access to applications that are needed across STEM areas. Involve employers and other community organizations to offer work- based opportunities made available via an ISLE app. Work with ISLE, STEM Exchange Partners, educators, and others to determine work-based learning app requirements.
