Pathfinder Elementary Building Improvement Plan (Reading Level) Measurable Building Goal: 75% of students at Pathfinder Elementary will be reading at an instructional grade level by the end of the school year as measured by either the DRA-2 Word Analysis (Kindergarten) or the DRA, Developmental Reading Assessment, (1 st and 2 nd Grade) benchmarks. Quarterly Targets Indicators: Teachers will be able to: Benchmarks ResultsAssessment / Indicator % Date % By October 15 th 75% of Pathfinder Elementary students will meet their grade level reading benchmark. (Kindergarten – 62 / DRA-2 Word Analysis) (1 st Grade DRA Level 4) (2 nd Grade DRA Level 18)  Kindergarten – second grade teachers will test and then analyze the data to determine areas of concern for reading ability.  Students will be placed into reading groups where their specific reading skills will be addressed.  Teachers will also utilize the leveled library at Pathfinder to instruct students at their instructional levels.  Running records will also be kept on students indicating progress made in their reading ability and to address any areas of weakness.  Teachers will access various websites to gather information and lessons for addressing reading ability.  Teachers will formulate SMART goals that are specific to students who are not meeting the yearly benchmarks. 75%10/15 K-98 out of 115 (85%) 1 st – 85 out of 102 (83%) 2 nd – 96 out of 110 (87%) DRA Benchmark By January 21 st 75% of Pathfinder Elementary students will meet their grade level reading benchmark.
