Objectives Ask questions/identify characters to help understand the story. Recognize story structure/identify setting to help understand the story.

Pre-Assessment Treasures Activity Book-Teacher directed instruction in small groups

Link to Real World Application Discussion of children’s knowledge of topic United Streaming video on “Bears” Teacher directed to Whole Group

Lesson Idea Instruct children to listen for characters, setting and story structure (auditory learners). After story is finished, create a story map to identify story elements (visual learners). Whole group discussion on story using Bloom’s Reading Task Cards. (See handout attached)
