Down in the Garden Written and illustrated By Room 18

To our buddies in Room 3. We wanted to make this counting story for you to help you with your counting. We made the ladybirds out of clay and painted them ourselves. Then we had fun creating words that rhyme to make a counting poem. Next we had to be creative and take photos with our ladybirds in different places around the school. We hope you enjoy our counting book.

Down in the Garden Underneath the tree Are many ladybirds Living happily.

1 little ladybird Being free How many spots?

2 little ladybirds Lying in the sun Munching on some leaves And having fun!

3 little ladybirds In Room 3 Playing with monkey What can you see?

4 little ladybirds Playing messily in the dirt They were lucky None of them got hurt!

5 little ladybirds  In the garden  Eating aphids  And saying ‘pardon!”

6 little ladybirds Sitting on a dice QUICK! Put your running legs on And run from the mice!

7 little ladybirds Walking in the grass Add a few more And now there is a class!

8 little ladybirds Listening to the teacher Escaping the spider A poisonous creature!

9 little ladybirds Sitting on a bike For their next exercise They’re going for a hike!
