They want to make life better in their communities The man in the center of the picture is Curtis Sliwa. He started the Guardian Angels in 1979. Sliwa and the Guardian Angels look like a gang, but they aren’t. They are just people who want to help others. Today the Guardian Angels are in cities in the United States, Japan, Sweden, England, and Italy.
