Top 5 Reasons why Seneca Valley is a Stand Out!

1. OUR PEOPLE With 7,300 students, our District is made up of more than 800 staff members, 5,000 families, 17,000 homeowners, and countless businesses, civic groups, public service organizations and friends of the district.

2. OUR GOOD WORK Seneca Valley is proud to be the home of several building honors, including Seneca Valley Middle School’s State and National Schools to Watch Redesignation. We have hundreds of students with awards, and numerous teachers who routinely win grants and have been named stand outs for their respective work in the classrooms. And we are proud to say one of our senior high school teachers is currently a finalist in the Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Competition.

3. OUR COMMITMENT TO STEM EDUCATION Students in grades K-12 are regularly immersed in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics initiatives to further their interests and skills in these fields. From elementary coding programs to middle school STEM Fem groups to our secondary engineering certification program and lecture series, there are opportunities for all.

4. THE SENECA VALLEY ACADEMY OF CHOICE - CYBER PROGRAMS & ARTS EDUCATION This award-winning Academy offers opportunities for thousands of students to take online courses in a full-time or part-time capacity, allowing them to customize their schedules and further enrich their educational experiences. So successful is the program that we are now also working with more than 25 other school districts so they, too, can provide this cost-effective cyber program using our proven methods and standards.

5. OUR ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES With over 100 extracurricular offerings in sports and activities, students can find their niches and round out their secondary experiences. We have WPIAL and PIAA playoff winners both as individuals and teams. Our extracurricular groups like the marching band and academic games teams have racked up numerous state and national awards for their outstanding efforts.
