LICENSURE Occupations that require licensure vary from state to state Usually require a person to : - Complete an approved educational program - Pass a state test - Maintain certain standards to obtain & maintain licensure Examples: Physicians, registered nurses, dental hygienists, physical therapists

 Required in some careers  Done by a regulatory agency, state board, or professional organization  Administer state tests and keep a list or registry of qualified individuals  Examples: Registered Dietician, registered respiratory therapist, registered radiology technician
