You can Measure the Benefits… SolidScan Products range – Smart Solid level gauges are designed for non-contact, continuous measurement tasks. Solid’s devices are suitable for both liquid and solid applications. SmartScan ® 50 SmartScan ® 25 SmartLite®

You can Measure the Benefits… SolidScan  The SolidScan family of non contact ultrasonic level measurement instruments adapts to virtually all environments with no calibration, delivers the highest reliability for both liquids and solids, offers simple installation and operation. Non contact ultrasonic level gauging

Training Course Introduction to MonoScan

You can Measure the Benefits… MonoScan 2 wires  The MonoScan 2– wire unit, is a loop powered device of mono block construction.  Where can it be used ?  Liquid tanks with calm surfaces  Solids that are dust-free  Open channel flow SolidScan

You can Measure the Benefits… MonoScan 2 wires Type and Applications MonoScan L For liquid MonoScan O For open channel MonoScan S For solid Short range0.25m - 5m 0.8ft ft 0.25m - 5m 0.8ft ft 0.25m - 5m 0.8ft ft Standard range0.6m - 15m 1.6ft – 49ft 0.6m - 15m 1.6ft - 49ft 0.6m - 8.5m 1.6ft ft

You can Measure the Benefits… MonoScan 2 wires  MonoScan has a range of up to 15 m (49 ft)  An accuracy of 0.25% within that range  Resolution of 1 mm (0.04") Accuracy & Resolution

You can Measure the Benefits… Sensor Aluminum with E-CTFE Coating  Designed for complex environments with problematic echo, such as non-conductive vapors or liquids  Good performance in problematic applications  High resistance in acid and alcoholic environments  Up to 15m/49ft measurement range Sensors housing  PP/PVDF MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits… Connection diagram (Non Intrinsically safe) * When using a power supply one must add a load resistor MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits…  Ripple/Noise recommended parameters for power supply switches:  Less than 15V < 75 mV max p-p  More than 15V < 100 mV max p-p Power Supply recommendations MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits… Connector diagram  2 wires connector (Pg7)  1 = + 24 V  2 = 0 V MonoScan 2 wires  Conduit adapter (M20 or ½” NPT)  1 = 0 V  2 = +24 V

You can Measure the Benefits… Intrinsically Safe  MonoScan Intrinsically Safe is a 2– wire unit, of mono block construction.  The unit is aimed to be used in hazardous areas where Flammable or explosive materials existing.  Operating at low energy can prevent electrical devices from creating arcs, sparks, or heat (during normal or fault conditions) that could ignite the explosive substance.  MonoScan IS performances are the same as MonoScan 2 wires MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits… Intrinsically Safe Connection diagram (positive ground) * When using a power supply one must add a load resistor MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits… Intrinsically Safe - Power Supply Power Supply VoltageMinimum resistor valueMaximum resistor value 18V 41  220  24V 41  310  28V 68  520  MonoScan 2 wires

You can Measure the Benefits…  Ripple/Noise recommended parameters for power supply switches  For more than 18V < 100 mV max p-p MonoScan 2 wires Power Supply recommendations

You can Measure the Benefits…  Software configurable Reduces stock requirement  Suitable for liquid, solid and open channel/flow A wide range of applications  Preprogrammed default settings simple to operate  Simple to install  Ranges of up to 15m (49ft) fits a variety of tanks MonoScan Benefits

You can Measure the Benefits… Certificates  MonoScan compliant with the following industry standards:  CE – EMC  FM (IS) –Class I, II, III, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F and G, T4.  use in Div 1 with barrier.  ATEX – II 1G EEx ia IIC T4.  for use in zone 0,1,2 with barrier MonoScan

You can Measure the Benefits… Important Notes  The sensor should always be mounted above it’s dead zone.  If the device enter its blocking distance it will not measure correctly.  If possible, the sensor should be centered or at least 0.5m from sidewalls. MonoScan

You can Measure the Benefits…  The sensor should be placed as far as possible from filling or other noisy inlets.  The sensor should preferably be installed when the tank is empty, or at least 2/3 empty.  The sensor should be mount as perpendicular as possible MonoScan Important Notes

You can Measure the Benefits… Sensor Installation on a Triangular Tank  When installing the sensor on a tank with a triangular shaped top, it should not be placed in the center of the tank but 1/3 of the triangular height.  Use SBD function up to 1.5m value. MonoScan

You can Measure the Benefits… Sensor Installation Via Pipe Pipe LengthPipe internal Diameter m ( ft)3-6 inch Notes: When using a guided pipe the sensor should be mount at the center of the pipe and the pipe should be parallel to tank’s wall. It is strongly recommended to use Scan Distance when install through a pipe, to overcome interfering signals. For any pipe material’s beside plastic please consul factory prior installation. MonoScan
