Make a PowerPoint for a Book Assignment 1 Include information on the genre of the book, what is the genre, and story elements or text features that lead you to conclude it is a genre from one of these category: Poetry, Fantasy or Science Fiction, Magazine, Mystery, Historical Fiction, Biography or Autobiography, Realistic Fiction, Nonfiction Information, Traditional Literature—Fairy Tales, Folklore, Fables, Myth. 2 Include some detailed information about why someone should read your book, that will get people to want to read the book. You may include some research about the book, such as the setting, or any awards the book has received. Or you can do You’ll need to do research on the genre, or something related to the book 3 Your Slide Show should have a Title Slide, And 4 Citation Page Slide, which documents your sources of information. 5 At least 2 illustrations or photos

Hatchet Genre: Realistic Fiction Wilderness Survival Story In a survival story, a person a person or group must overcome obstacles, after a disaster such as a boat sinking, being stranded and alone, one must overcome nature. In this story 13 year old Brian survives a plane crash in the Canadian Wilderness, the pilot was not so lucky. He is in the far north, he is alone in the deep woods, with only the wildlife animals, and a million mosquitoes.

Setting is North Canada Cold Climate, Deep Forests The setting is crucial to the plot of the story as Brian is forced to learn to adapt to his harsh environment where a boy is not always at the top of the food chain. He is alone with not many tools to survive with, but his resourcefulness and one hatchet.
