Atmosphere- amount of sunshine Amsterdam, Netherlands is a very sunny and nice place to live in. Amsterdam gets 309 sunny days per year. In June, it gets 11 hours of sunshine. In the graph it shows that it gets 37% sunshine and about 1662 hours of sunshine per year.

Atmosphere- amount of rainy days Amsterdam is also a very rainy city. It has 214 rainy days per year. Its wettest month is in November with an average of 90mm of rainfall. Amsterdam is the 4 th rainiest city. In the graph it shows how April gets the least amount of rain with an average of 9 rainy days.

Atmosphere- average temperatures During the summer in Amsterdam, from June to September, the average temperature is 64-70F. In the winter from December to February, the average temperature is 42-33F. The graph it shows the average temperature in Celsius for each month.

Atmosphere The CO2 emissions per year is 6.66 tones per person. The atmospheric pressure Amsterdam has is 1012mb. In the picture it shows the amount of carbon dioxide in thousands of tons. In 2010 it was kt.

Atmosphere- humidity In Amsterdam is very humid. Its about 80% humidity. December and January have the highest humidity percentage. The graph shows how the lowest humidity month is May with below 60%.

Hydrosphere- drinking water The drinking water in Amsterdam is very good. 60% of Dutch drinking water comes from groundwater. The remaining 40% comes from surface water.

Hydrosphere- purification Your drinking water goes through 20 steps of purification before reaching your tap. Amsterdam has the best tap water in the Netherlands.

Hydrosphere- sea averages The average sea temperature is Amsterdam is 82F. The best month to swim in the sea is August. That’s when the average sea temperature is 85F.

Hydrosphere- amount of days with no rainfall In Amsterdam, there are 125 days per year without a drop of rain anywhere in the country. That’s a lot because in Amsterdam, it rains for most of the year.

Biosphere- population The population in Amsterdam is 820,000 people. It has 3.5 million foreign visitors a year. The ethnic makeup of Amsterdam is 49.5% of Dutch ancestry and 50.5% of foreign origin.

Biosphere- cost The currency there is Euros. A meal at an inexpensive restaurant is about 15 Euros. The gas price is around 1.77 Euros which is pretty expensive.

Biosphere- rates The life expectancy of a male is 79 years old. The life expectancy of a women is 83 years old. The birth rate is The death rate is 8.4 Death rate Birth rate

Biosphere- safety Amsterdam has a very low crime rate than many other popular European capitals. Its one of the top 25 safest cities in the world.

Geosphere- production More than 27% of the total land area of the Netherlands is under seasonal or permanent crop production. Flower growing is centered in Amsterdam. The picture is the wheat production.

Biosphere- religion The largest religious group are Christians, who are divided between Roman Catholics and Protestants. The next largest religion is Islam, most of whose followers are Sunni. The picture represents Remembrance Day and its to pay their respects to soldiers and civilians who died during World War II and it’s a holiday.

Geosphere- pollution The air pollution in Amsterdam is very low. Purity and cleanliness is very high and also moderate in some places. In the chart it shows how the noise and light pollution are moderate. It also shows how clean, tidy and no problem with the lights on are also moderate.

Geosphere- flooding One natural hazard Amsterdam has in flooding. Its due to the numerous river systems and low plains throughout the region.

Geosphere- location The city is located in the province of North Holland in the west of the country. It comprises much of the northern part of the Randstad. Amsterdam was built on 60% reclaimed land. Its also 85 square miles and it lies 2 meters below sea level.

Geosphere- lakes and rivers The lakes and rivers in Amsterdam are IJ and Amstel River. The river IJ is 78 miles long. The river Amstel terminates in the city centre and connects to a large number of canals that eventually terminate in the IJ.
