What is Responsible Care? Responsible Care® is the chemical industry’s global initiative to drive continuous improvement in health, safety, security and environmental performance. Being a Responsible Care company means sharing information with communities and others about performance and ways to improve. It means addressing concerns about health, safety and security, the environment and product. And it means doing more than what is required by the regulations.

Development of Responsible Care American Chemical Association ( ACC ) developed the systems of the RC. International Council of Chemical Association ( ICCA ) became the awarding body of RC to Associations. GPCA developed its systems to fulfil the ICCA requirements. GPCA got the full membership of ICCA in June 2009.
