 Adopt 21 st century necessary set of skills, methodologies and related teaching approaches to develop the core conceptual knowledge and technical skills among students related to computer and information technology domain. PreviousPrevious NextNext |Contents|

 Encourage students to actively engage themselves online to acquire more computer and information technology subject knowledge while utilizing the information technology resources.  Replacement of tradition style research approach with the latest trends and methods of locating information from the World Wide Web.  Encourage students to use latest productivity tools for presentations, submitting subject specific assignments.  Encourage students to use the latest gadgets for communication and exchange of valuable information to promote the concepts of ‘BEING DIGITAL’ and ‘BEING ONLINE’ PreviousPrevious NextNext |Contents|

Sub Topic ApproachMode Find subject specific information on a given topic from world wide web Provide Opportunities to find links (Search Engines and encyclopedias) and contacts of different volunteer subject specialist over the world wide web(including faculty and students from international schools) Orientation to students related to the use of latest productivity tools (word-processing, spreadsheets, Multimedia, DPT packages) and latest technology of ‘today and tomorrow’ for communication Direction Skills Monitoring Skills Intervening skills Direction Skills Monitoring Skills Intervening skills Direction Skills Monitoring Skills Intervening skills By demonstrating the different steps of using internet, searching and extracting the required information By demonstration, acquiring desired search targets and locating information. Pair and share (Group discussion) strategy individual activity task with a given set of instructions.

 Task1: I will provide more opportunities for students to find subject specific information on a given topic from world wide web, this will enable them to search and extract information from a huge knowledge bank, this will also enable them to accomplish more complex research tasks that requires higher-order thinking.  Task 2: I will provide students with the opportunities to find links (Search Engines and encyclopedias) and contacts of different volunteer subject specialist over the world wide web(including faculty and students from international schools) to exchange knowledge and discuss on computer science related information, this will promoted collaboration and cooperation among students. PreviousPrevious NextNext |Contents|

 Task 3: Orientation to students related to the use of latest productivity tools (word-processing, spreadsheets, and Multimedia, DPT packages) to present and share the searched information and knowledge in an effective way. This will improve their design skills, increase motivation and self esteem. This will later followed by Pair and share (Group discussion) strategy to discuss related skills and then an individual activity task with a given set of instructions.  Task 4: When students will be using technology as a tool or a support for communicating with each other, they are in an active role rather than the passive role of recipient of information transmitted by a teacher, textbook, or broadcast (websites). Orientation to students related to latest technology of ‘today and tomorrow’ for communication, later followed by Pair and share (Group discussion) strategy to discuss related skills then an individual activity task with a given set of instructions. PreviousPrevious NextNext |Contents|

 Challenge No 1:  Some students may not actively participate and may be distracted during the course of search online as the internet is a global gateway and portal to access almost any kind of textual and pictorial information.  Solution:  Limited access must be given to students and this task must be carried out in a controlled computer lab facility having restrictions to access only required material from World Wide Web; if a student opts home premises for task associated with online research then parent’s involvement to monitor their child activities online in home will be encouraged.  Challenge no 2:  Some students may not use the technology gadgets for the intended purpose.  Solution:  Attainment targets and criteria of success will be discussed with each and every student; proper counseling and guidance will be given to group participants. PreviousPrevious NextNext |Contents|

 Challenge no 3:  Potential threat and expose to online hoaxes and personal information stealing.  Solution: The online activity of students must be monitored regularly and status of websites and privacy certificates must be checked before student’s attempts for signing up any kind of online membership or registration of personal information.  Challenge no 4:  Some students will not be able to work together as a group.  Solution: Random group selection strategy will be adopted as this will promote collaboration.
