Implemented county-wide fleet card for gas, saving money and increasing fiscal accountability. Teleconferencing saves hundreds of hours of commuting time, saving money, gas and vehicle wear and tear. Eighth perfect audit in a row. Going paperless requires less storage space, lower supply costs and less wear and tear on office equipment. On line training for officers means less travel time, less instructor costs and less overtime. Added benefit: more time on the job. Rental of bed space to the federal government: $1.5 - $2 million per year Inmate Commissary: $100,000 per year Booking fees: $48,559 Inmate subsistence fees: $30,000 per year Other fees collected: approximately $33,000 per year Prepaid phone cards Indigent packs Mattress Rentals Check writing fees Reading glasses Medical Services Legal services Jail income helps offset costs

High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area grant: $21,003, HIDTA investigates major drug and money laundering investigations in South Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Sheriff Peryam is the Chair of the South Florida HIDTA Board Note: MCSO receives between 1.5% to 2.0% in administrative fees from this grant. Other Grants: approximately $2 million, including: Jail Diversion Substance Abuse / Mental Health treatment 911 System enhancement Crime Victim Assistance Law Enforcement Equipment Training software Actively seeking grants
