What we should look for in a Bible Class Psalm 119:9-16

Psalm 119:9-16 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.”

Bible Classes that Glorify God It’s all about God. We should stress respect and reverence for God. Prayer Matthew 22:36-40

Matthew 22:36-40 “"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."”

Colossians 3:1-2 “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Bible Classes that focus on God’s word Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. "You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 “You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. "You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up. "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth.”

2 Timothy 1:3-5 “I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.”

2 Timothy 3:14-15 “You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 2:19-22 “But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition. For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus. But you know of his proven worth, that he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father.”

Bible Classes that focus on God’s word We should endeavor to do a wonderful job here … focusing on the word of God. We should have a plan and focus so that our children get a thorough knowledge of the word of God In our Adult classes – we should make sure that they are fitting for those that are in the class.

Bible Classes that focus on God’s word In all of our classes – whether it be for the young or the old … The inspiration of Scripture is to be upheld The relevance of God’s word in today’s world is to be stressed. Recognition is to be made of the Power and Authority of God’s Word.

High Energy & Enthusiastic Philippians 3:7-10

Philippians 3:7-10 “But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, …”

Philippians 3:7-10 “… not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;”

Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

High Energy & Enthusiastic Bible Class teachers often work hard each week and spend many hours in advance of each class. In many places, Bible classes are an after thought. Our teachers should be focused on the Bible story.

High Energy & Enthusiastic It takes great effort for a teacher to remain enthusiastic week after week. Our children should be excited to go to Bible Class To want to talk about what they learned in class

Well Planned & Thought Out With each class – there should be a definite goal.

Well Planned & Thought Out With our younger kids Install and reinforce basic principles of: Respect for God & how to worship Him Right & wrong Friendship & loving others

Well Planned & Thought Out With each class – there should be a definite goal. With our older kids and adults: Our goal is to give participants practical and relevant instruction on how to apply Christian principles to everyday life.

Well Planned & Thought Out Each class should be built around these goals. Our desire should be to truly equip people with the tools to transform their spiritual life. Romans 12:1-2

Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
