AANA Foundation Advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research Mission: Advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research. As the philanthropic arm of the AANA, the Foundation raises funds and invests in projects that directly support the AANA Foundation and AANA priorities. Vision: To serve as the leading source for assuring safe anesthesia care through education and research Core Values: Knowledge, Integrity, Excellence, and Stewardship

Since 1981, the Foundation has awarded more than $3.18 million to more than 2,800 individuals 910 scholarships totaling more than $1,345, fellowships totaling $1,082,500 to assist CRNA students pursuing their PhD and DNP degrees 180 research grants to CRNAs totaling more than $673, student research grants totaling $37,000 1,522 poster presentations at AANA annual meetings totaling more than $92,000 Advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research

In FY14, the AANA Foundation: Supported more than 217 CRNAs and students Educated more than 100 CRNAs and students at Foundation-supported workshops Funded 2 new health services research studies focused on CRNA scope of practice Funded and coordinated a malpractice closed-claim study by a team of CRNA researchers Advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research
