Project Objectives Why We’re Creating a Portal – To make OSU’s web content easy to find – To reduce application log on frequency – To help students, especially first-year students, find and use the right processes and easily see and address issues – To target communication to appropriate audiences – To create a strategic and competitive solution for OSU Our initial focus is administrative processes, items people have difficulty finding or using, “must see” information and items triggering the most calls for help
Positioning Oregon State web page is available to the general public and is OSU’s primary face to the world. – No logon necessary Blackboard is for academic and collaborative work performed within a group such as a class or club – communicating with professors, checking assignments, uploading homework, sharing information among clubs and organizations. – Logon with ONID required myOSU portal is for administrative work and information related to the university – paying tuition, viewing and updating personal information, enrolling in classes, checking graduation requirements, launching applications, locating links and finding resources. – Logon with ONID required
