In late winter of 2006, most of the NIDA IRP moves to the new NIHBRC located on the JHBMC campus.

Highlights Drs. Yun Wang and Marilyn Huestis have been tenured to lead Neural Protection and Regeneration Research Section and the Chemistry and Drug Metabolism Research Section, respectively. Dr. Kenzie was appointed as the Chief, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Research Branch.

Extramural Review- Nov, 2005 Cellular Neurophysiology Division - Dr Barry Hoffer Dr Backman (molecular), Dr Kiyatkin (physiology), Dr Woods (proteomics) Clinical Pharmacology Section - Dr Richard Rothman Molecular Neurobiology Research Branch - Dr George Uhl Medications Discovery Research Branch - Dr Jonathan Katz Dr Kenner Rice

Shared Resources NIH Policy: Specialized reagents or animal models (vectors, transgenic animals, etc) should be publicly available within 24 months after publication. Mutant Mouse Regional Resource Centers (MMRRC) Cryopreserve and distribute mouse strains and mouse ES cell lines NIDA Genetic Consortium and the NIDA Center for Genetic Studies Produce, store and distribute clinical data and DNA/cell lines

Shared Resources All specialized animals and reagents will be made available according to NIH guidelines to investigators individually and/or via repositories. IRP with few exceptions, already conforms to this policy Should council recommend formalizing this policy for all IRP Investigators
