European Fire Sprinkler Network Mission Statement “To develop the market for the wide-spread acceptance of competently installed and properly maintained fire sprinkler systems in both new and existing buildings”

Benefits of sprinklers Control or extinguish 98% of fires Fire deaths almost eliminated Fire injuries reduced by over 80% Fire losses reduced by over 80% Less CO 2 and other fire pollution Less water run-off

Benefits of sprinklers Architectural benefits Less heat and smoke => longer travel distances Fire resistance of compartments may be lower Fire compartments may be larger Compensation for poor fire brigade access => Cheaper to build with sprinklers than without!
