MoHealthWINs Accelerated Workforce Training Health Informatics/IT in Healthcare Pathway ( continued ) Healthcare Information Management Systems Implementation Certificate of Completion Professional program (approx. 6 months) Online program, self-study Previous healthcare or IT experience required You will be asked to provide a resume! Opportunity to acquire HIMSS certification - Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS) Prepares to students to facilitate design and improve the quality of health IT and business management systems in a healthcare setting. Students in these programs must be employable in a healthcare setting.

Sample Informatics Pathway

The Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO), which accredits healthcare facilities across the country, enforced background screening in September 2004 and has set requirements mandating that students in a healthcare field must now complete the same background check as hospital employees. A background investigation WILL be completed prior to your entrance into a health program or course at St. Louis Community College as per the Regional Guidelines for Allied Health/Nursing School students. Items which are or may be included in your background check: 1. Criminal History Record Search for Missouri 2. Other States Lived in Last 10 Years 3. Nationwide Sex Offender Search 4. Federal Criminal History Search 5. Office of Inspector General Search 6. Social Security Number Trace 7. Missouri Department of Senior Services Family Care Safety Registry 8. Missouri Division of Family Services Request for Child Abuse Search 9.5- or 10-Panel Drug Screen 10.Immunization Tracking Also understand that a complete physical may be required to ensure that you can successfully perform the duties of the job for which you have applied.

Career Ready 101 Quick Guide Pretest (CR101) This assessment will tell us if you are ready to take the WorkKeys Assessment, which can lead to the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). You will be asked 4 questions in each of the following subjects: Reading for Information - the skill used in reading materials to gather information, follow procedures and perform job tasks. Applied Math - the skill used to solve work-related problems by applying basic math reasoning and operations. Locating Information - the skill used in working with information found in workplace graphics (charts, forms, maps, etc.).

Reading for Information: 75% (3 out of 4 correct) or higher Applied Math: 50% (2 out of 4 correct) or higher Locating Information: 75% (3 out of 4 correct) or higher TIPS: Use the calculator. Expand the images. Don’t skip questions. Take your time!!! What if you don’t pass CR101 today?

Health Career Readiness Assessment (HCRA) More than 70% of new hire turnover in the Healthcare Industry can be traced back to individuals who were a poor “fit” for positions in this industry. The HCRA helps: Identify career seekers who have the behavioral skills required for success in a specific healthcare position Guide the right individual to work in the right healthcare career pathway Provide an accurate and objective assessment of critical healthcare behavioral competencies If you successfully completed CR101…

Your overall score, not your individual answers, will determine if: You are a good fit for the healthcare industry, You would benefit from meeting with a Career Pathway Coach before proceeding, or You may not be a good fit for the healthcare industry. TABE Locator Test TABE - Tests of Adult Basic Education “An assessment to measure basic reading, math and language skills.” Students must reach the following scores on the TABE Locator exam in order to be eligible for the MoHealthWINs program: Reading: 9 out of 12 questions Math: 9 out of 16 questions Language: 9 out of 12 questions

If successful on the TABE Locator Test and HCSI today - your next step will be the TABE Test. Students must also score IN RANGE on the TABE TEST at a “D” level to be eligible: Reading Range: out of 50 questions correct Math Range: out of 40 questions correct on Math Computation 22 out of 50 questions correct on Applied Math Language Range: out of 55 questions correct All eligibility requirements must be met in order to be accepted into the Accelerated HSE Program with MoHealthWINs.
