MISSION- GROWTH ENGINES WITH ACTION PLAN 3 Sl. No. Growth Engine Area (ha) Yield (kg/ha)Production (‘000 MT) GVA value (Rs in Cr.) % increase Paddy

Actionable Points for Achieving Double Digit Growth 4 Sl.No Technological interventions Area proposed to cover with intervention RICE 1Additional area under Rice0 2 Seed replacement4 3 Direct seeding MSRI (Drum Seeding & Mechanical Transplanting) 10 4 Micronutrient application2 5 Popularisation of IPM techniques through trainings 5 6 Green manure5

MAJOR STRATEGIES 1.Soil health and Micronutrients 2.Seed and variety replacement 3.Good Agronomical practices (GAP) 4.Bringing down cost of cultivation 5.Strengthening Of Extension 6.Farm Mechanization 5

A.SOIL TEST BASED FERTILIZER APPLICATION: SOIL ANALYSIS 4 GPS instruments have been supplied to the department officials for using in soil sampling During it is collected 30 soil samples Campaigns are being conducted to create awareness on importance & process of soil sampling to be adopted. Immediately after analysis the results were communicated to farmers Besides SMS soil analysis results will be send to farmers mobile in telugu immediately after analysis. 1. SOIL HEALTH & MICRONUTRIENTS 6

B. SOIL HEALTH CARDS Soil health cards will be distributed to farmers before commencement of sowings. Village level interactive meetings will be arranged on Soil health status and recommendations to promote balanced fertilization. Village level soil fertility maps will be prepared based on the soil analysis results. Based on analysis results the required quantities of micronutrients will be distributed to farmers on 50% subsidy. 7

CropVarieties Qty of seed Planned to distribute (Qtls) PADDYNLR SEED & VARIETAL REPLACEMENT 8

4. GOOD AGRONOMICAL PRACTICES Crop sequence & crop rotation Double Cropping in Rainfed condition Rising Redgram on Rice and commercial crop bunds 9

5. BRINGING DOWN COST OF CULTIVATION – INM & NPM (IPM) 1.Soil Test Based Nutrient recommendation 2.Reducing excessive use of nitrogen 3.Control on indiscriminate use of Pesticide 4.Promotion of Non-Pesticide Management (NPM) 5.Popularizing different methods of organic inputs like vermi compost,FYM, neem coated urea, neem cake, bio agents & bio pesticides 10

6. STRENGTHENING OF EXTENSION Intensifying Polam Pilusthondi Program and developing measurable indicators for assessing the impact of different interventions like pest & disease control, selection of right chemical & dosage, balanced use of fertilizers, varietal replacement etc. Chandranna Rythu Kshetralu of 25 acres each are 1 per each ADA, MAO and AEO. Best management practices are demonstrated in each crop for increasing production and productivity levels. 11 Contd;

Village level Action Plan is being prepared to address the gaps in productivity. The interventions for this are : Polam Pilusthondi, Chandranna Rythu Kshethralu and Polambadi programmes. Placement of MPEOs will strengthen the extension reach to Village level and regular contact with farmers 12

7. FARM MECHANISATION Promoting improved Farm Mechanization to reduce cost of farm operations by providing 50% subsidy. Harvest & Post harvest equipment like Combined harvester, driers. 13

i) Farmers use : Online Soil Health Card Generation Interest Free Crop Loans Automation of Transactions Agricultural Services available through Mee Seva Services - 38  Work Flow for Application of Subsidy Seed - Mee Seva  Work Flow of Application for Farm Implements - Mee Seva Farmers Portal : Crop wise best management practices in Telugu ii) Department efficiency : Online Input Licence Management System (OLMS) – Fertilizer monitoring upto retialers level E-Agri Labs Application CORE Dashboard  Crop Data Entry System  Fertilizer Monitoring System  Polam Pilustondi – Response of Farmers IT Applications:

Contd….. Promoting Direct Seeding/drum seeding/MSRI for cost reduction and timely sowing. Yield increase 5- 10% and cost reduction 10%. Adoption of flood and lodging tolerant rice varieties in flood and cyclone prone areas – increases of yield by 20 – 25% (4- 5 Q/acre) Large scale farm mechanization using rotavators, appropriate translators, plant protection equipment and harvesters reduce the cost of cultivation by 10% (labour etc) and yield by 5 – 10% (2-3Q/ha) INTRODUCING IMPROVED MANAGEMENT PRACTICES RICE

Wide adaption of green manuring in light soils and reclamations of salt affected soils using gypsum can increase yield by 10 – 15% Reducing the use of ‘P’ fertilizes to 1/3 based on soil test, use of P-solubelizing bacteria and conjunctive use of organic and inorganic fertilizers increase soil microbial and fertility status besides reducing cost of inputs by 5- 10% and improving soil health and productivity.

Redgram Redgram on rice and commercial crop field bunds 10 ha Kharif

Interventions in Black gram& Green gram Promoting Yellow Mosaic resistant varieties like LBG-752,PU-31 in blackgram Increasing the area in rice fallows and as summer pulse. Two crop sequence under rainfed during kharif/rabi in place of mono cropping. Promoting use of gypsum & micronutrient application

Groundnut Popularization high yielding and short duration varieties, viz.,K6 Seed replacement in 10ha.(K6) with 50% 825/ ha. Timely application of Gypsum and micronutrients increased pod yields by 18-20%. Promoting intercropping with redgram Micro nutrient supplement with 50% subsidy. Micro Irrigation: supply of sprinkler sets/ water carrying pipes for 3 units with subsidy of Rs.15000/unit. 19
