 Why should we be concerned....

 More than 84,000 residents have a dementia diagnosis  $19 million/year impact on the workforce through lost productivity of caregivers and patients  Ranks 40 th out of 58 counties for its death rate due to dementia (1 is best) and by 49% in 6 yrs.  In 2013, the cost of Alzheimer's related care was $203 billion

◦ Seniors 85 and older are the fastest growing population segment ◦ Significant shift in racial and ethnic composition ◦ Senior poverty is at 9% and increasing faster than state and national levels
