Stronger Economies Together (SET) SET is a multi-county regional development planning process funded by USDA and facilitated by OCES. Regions are provided with detailed industry and demographic data to inform the construction of an development plan that crosses county boundaries.

SET (cont’d.) Western I-40 Region has had their plan reviewed and are revising; once complete, they should qualify for an implementation seed grant Kiamichi Region has formed taskforces to focus on their 3 goals: education & workforce development, agriculture, and tourism Route 66 Community Partners is drafting goals South Central Oklahoma is evaluating cluster data Phase V is likely to be announced in Fall 2014!

Retail Trade Analysis Continues to be one of the more popular programs By analyzing sales tax data, communities can: – Evaluate/track retail sales by sector – Compare retail sales to other communities – Identify strong and weak sectors – Recognize opportunities for new retail businesses In 2013, OTC changed systems, so that data now available by NAICS – created a break in the data series; trying to overcome this
