What is homophobia? What are some ways people can feel left out? Have you ever felt different from everyone else? What is bullying? Can you think of some ways that people can be bullied?

What is Physical Bullying? Physical bullying or violence is when you are physically attacked or threatened. It can include: pushing, tripping, grabbing punching, kicking, scratching, biting, spitting or any other type of direct physical contact attacking or threatening with equipment, knives, guns, clubs or any other type of object that can be turned into a weapon any form of sexual harassment, such as flashing or touching initiation - where you are made to do humiliating things in order to be accepted as part of the team.

What is Physical Bullying?

What is Psychological Bullying? Psychological and social bullying can include: verbal abuse or making fun of your work or you (including your family, sex, sexuality, race or culture, education or economic background) Not including people intimidation (making you feel scared) giving you impossible jobs that can't be done in the given time deliberately changing your work roster to make it difficult for you deliberately holding back information you need for getting your work done properly.

Bullying at work q2VRAxjh8http:// q2VRAxjh8

Workplace Bullying and Harassment What happens in a workplace where there is bullying and harassment? People feel scared and unhappy There are high levels of stress Employers have higher costs

What happens to someone who is being bullied? When someone is being bullied they can suffer from a number of stress-related illnesses. This can affect them: - at work - at home - in their family relationships - in their social and community life.

Being bullied can make someone: get headaches, not sleep and feel tired lose confidence about themselves and what they can do not want to be with other people not do their job properly because they are worried not go to work, take sick days or often be late for work quit their job

What is the effect of bullying on other workers? Other workers who can see what is happening might: feel guilty because they know that it's wrong but they don't feel able to do anything about it or don't want to get involved be afraid to help the person who is being bullied in case it starts to happen to them too feel angry and unhappy at work.

What is the effect of bullying on the workplace? More mistakes can be made because of a negative work environment. More workers take sick days Experienced workers resign and leave their jobs. Less teamwork or communication. More workers using alcohol or drugs at work. There is very little respect for the employer and the company when nothing is done to stop bullying

If you or another worker are being bullied at work... you must tell somebody Supervisor / team coordinator Safety representative Employer/ manager Equal Opportunity Commission Who would you tell?

Remember... workplace bullying is against the law It is the employer's responsibility to stop it. The occupational health, safety and welfare law and regulations say that employers must provide a safe and healthy working environment.
