I’m a teacher, coach, writer, music lover and red sox fan-atic. i write nearly everyday. If you want to read one of my poems, click here. I also write ‘stuff’ i think about. here’s something i’m willing to share. i love music. my taste is fairly eclectic, so last year i wrote out my top 100 play list, and attempted to explain why i liked each song – you’ll notice that i added a play list to the wikipage. coldplay is one of my favorite bands. my family is very important to me. we have a lot of fun together; i love them very much. i am an amateur photographer. my future goals include taking a photography class so that my camera doesn’t scare me anymore. i also want to learn how to cross country ski, visit ireland and greece, and attend a professional football game. my life list is here.red sox here’s something top 100 play listcoldplay familyprofessional football my life list is here.

Most of the time when I ask students what role writing plays in their lives, they tell me it doesn’t. What they forget, however, is how it impacts their life each day. They write im’s, text messages, messages on their myspace, e- mails, blogs, even notes to their friends in school. This list doesn’t even include what writing they may be required to do as part of their school work. Today we communicate through varied forms of writing more than we do by phone or face to face interactions. It is vital that we learn to communicate clearly so that our words are not misunderstood. Writing is an art, and I see my role partially as one in which encourage appreciation, and hopefully hone my own, and my students’ craft.

while this section is supposed to only include books from my childhood, i decided to include my favorite novel, the sound and the fury, as well. i can’t really explain why i love that book so much, other than it was taught to me in an extraordinary manner – plus, well, faulkner…what else is there? my favorite book as a child was may I bring a friend? rhyme, humor, great pictures, and my father read it to me frequently. hop on pop i loved, but more as a book i read to my own children who in turn took it as license to hop on their own pop! the reason i love caps for sale is the pictures of the caps stacked on top of one another and the cap seller is so clever. the lorax preceded my concern for the environment and my suspicion of government…an influential read i was in fifth grade, my teacher read from the mixed up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler to our class, and it was then i realized the real power of stories. i couldn’t wait for her to read to us each day, and I took her lesson and shared it with my own children and my students. ilove all books, and could include hundreds more. this is a great site to share your thoughts about books: shelfarishelfari
