Presentation transcript:

Destiny helps you find books in our library!

We need computers to help us keep up with our 17,000 books!

Library computers already have a shortcut icon.

Destiny is on our website, too!

Main Page – “CATALOG”

Look for books 5 different ways!

If you know a book’s TITLE, type it in the box and click on the TITLE button.

You usually see the cover, if the book is available, and AR information.

For FICTION books, find them on the shelf by AR level and the first letter of the author’s last name.

For NON-FICTION books, use the NUMBER and first letter of the author’s last name.

To RETURN to the SEARCH box, click on the first word on the green bar Don’t use the arrow on Explorer!

If you have only a topic or subject, type it in the box and click on either SUBJECT button or KEYWORD.

Keyword searches give you more choices!

Try typing in an author’s last name!

Sometimes there’s more than 1 page, so click here:

Click on POWER tab for typing in 2 or 3 search terms

There are many ways to search using the POWER button!

REMEMBER: Spelling is important! Search for Dags – NO books Search for Dogs – Many books

Searching for books at the Public Library will be easier for you.

Check Destiny from your own home – if you have Internet!

Remember – We are here to help you! Mrs. Veach Mrs. D’Abate

REMINDERS: Scan your folder first and check the screen when you check out!
