The residual action items are summarized as follows: 1) SPOWG 99-20: Open Direct Soundings ARP to determine resources needed for NESDIS to provide accurate temperature and moisture retrievals from sounder channels of SSMIS. Action: NESDISDue Date: TBD Status: Open. NESDIS participating in SSMIS Cal/Val. a.FNMOC is interested in assimilating profiles before attempting direct radiance assimilation. b.NCEP would like to evaluate radiances, resources permitting. 2) SPOWG 00-12: Open Provide feedback on SPP Program Management Plan including Configuration Management plan. Action: NESDISDue date: 29 Jun 01. Status: NESDIS host teleconference for joint review.

SPOWG 3) SPOWG 00-10: Open. NESDIS needs a formal request of MODIS data from users. Action: NAVOCEANO Due: TBD 4) SPOWG Review Soundings ARP requirement & POPS Representation.
