Direct School Admission (DSA) DSA Leaflets Criteria in DSA schs’ websites. Selection – Term 3 (Jun – Aug) Exercise School Preferences (Oct) Release of DSA results – same date as PSLE results
DSA – Direct School Admission Aims to promote holistic education, gives participating sec schs greater flexibility in selecting students while holding to the key principles of transparency and meritocracy. Contact DSA schools, visit their websites, or www.moe.gov.sg May to August – inquire early, can begin now.
DSA – Direct Sch Admission 5 Categories of DSA-Sec Schools Specialised Independent Schools (SIS) – NUSHS, SST, SOTA, SSS Integrated Programme Schools (IP) Independent Schools (IS) Autonomous Schools (AS) Niche Programme Schools (NS)
DSA Application Deadline for each Sec Sch differ DSA Sec Schs publish their latest selection criteria on their websites in May. Financially needy pupils could approach sch for financial assistance to pay for application and admin fees.
DSA Selection by Schools Shortlisted student goes for selection tests / camps or interviews By Aug, outcome of application (Confirmed offer, Waiting List, Rejected List) will be given to the student.
DSA Selection by Schools Confirmed offer – guaranteed a place provided the school offers a course (Express / NA / NT) which the student is eligible. Waiting List – admission subject to available vacancies Rejected List – rejected but student could still opt during the S1 posting exercise.
Exercise School Preference Stage Mode 1 - Submission through Internet by Parents Schools should advise parents to Access DSA-Sec website and click on DSA-Sec-IS link. www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec/ Logon using pupil’s BC/FIN and DSA-Sec PIN (as printed on School Preference Form) Input school preferences Print out Verification Slip for reference and record Primary schools to provide PCs (with Internet access) and printers for parents to use during Exercise School Preference Stage
Exercise School Preference Stage Mode 2 - Submission through Primary School School staff to collect completed DSA School Preference Form from parents School staff access DSA-Sec IS using School User account 2 copies of verification slips (VS) to be printed. Parent to sign on both copies and school to retain a copy one copy for audit purposes
DSA Results release stage DSA results out together with release of PSLE results Successful admission to Sec Sch thru’ DSA – not eligible for the centralised Sec 1 posting exercise. DSA unsuccessful applicants will participate in the Sec 1 posting exercise.

Integrated Programme Objective: To enable university bound students to engage in broader learning experiences. 6 years leading to IB Diploma or A levels 2 phases for DSA IP schs admission based on their own admission requirements Pupils can opt for IP schs during Sec 1 option.

(S1) POSTING EXERCISE KEY MESSAGES TO PARENTS 1 Parents/Guardians are advised to read the S1 information booklets - “Choosing Your Secondary School” Part One and Part Two that you would expect to receive from your child/ward’s primary school in September and October respectively before making the secondary school options for your child/ward.

(S1) POSTING EXERCISE KEY MESSAGES TO PARENTS 2 Parents/Guardians can submit the completed S1 Option Form for their child/ward, either: electronically via the S1 Internet System (S1-IS) (from home or anywhere with Internet access or using the primary school’s internet facility) OR by bringing the hardcopy form to the child/ward’s primary school to submit.
(S1) POSTING EXERCISE KEY MESSAGES TO PARENTS 3 Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to complete the hardcopy S1 Option Form worksheet before accessing the S1-IS. This will help parents/guardians reduce the time needed to complete the online submission and for it to be more accurate.
(S1) POSTING EXERCISE KEY MESSAGES TO PARENTS Parents/Guardians can access the S1-IS using their child/ward’s BC/FIN and the S1 PIN. The unique S1 PIN is issued to parents/guardians in the sealed S1 Option Form, which will be given to their child/ward together with the child/ward’s PSLE results slip. 5 Parents/Guardians are advised to keep the S1 PIN confidential to prevent unauthorised access to their application on the S1-IS.
